CGLJ Resource Hub
Introduction
The Center for Global Law and Justice (CGLJ) is honored to serve as the new host of the extensive collection of human rights resources developed and hosted by the International Justice Resource Center (IJRC) from 2010 and 2024. Please see our Tribute to IJRC for more information about the critical role of the IJRC in the creation, curation, and organization of the materials on this site.
As we move forward, CGLJ will continue to support the human rights work of advocates, scholars, students, and journalists by updating the resources currently available on the site. In addition, CGLJ is drawing upon the expertise available at the Northeastern University School of Law and at the global campuses of Northeastern University to identify new areas of growth for this resource hub and to provide new categories of information (e.g., information about promoting human rights at the subnational level, information about human rights and Sustainable Development Goals). CGLJ is committed to serving and supporting a worldwide community of individuals and organizations devoted to the protection and promotion of human rights.
The site contains resources about human rights law and related areas of law, human rights oversight (i.e., the bodies and mechanisms responsible for monitoring the implementation of human rights law), and news and events related to human rights law and oversight. The site also includes a repository of publications and media that provide substantive information about human rights research and advocacy.
Our hope is that individuals and organizations will use the resources on this site:
- To learn about human rights law and human rights oversight,
- To guide research and advocacy efforts, and
- To stay informed about developments in human rights law and oversight.

- Overview of the Human Rights Framework is an essay that explains the relationship between, and motivations behind, the various human rights tribunals and oversight mechanisms.
- Guide to Researching International Human Rights Law is a comprehensive guide “intended to identify, and guide researchers in using, online repositories of information and documents necessary for understanding international human rights law, including jurisprudence and soft law.” A companion video provides an introduction to international human rights law and an overview of the guide.
- Thematic Research Guides focus on distinct human rights protected under international law. Completing a full range of such guides is an ongoing project at CGLJ.
